About Surf Life Saving Illawarra
Our primary role is to save lives on the beach and our 17 Surf Life Saving Clubs and 9,000 members in the region, makes us part of one of the largest volunteer movements in Australia.
Surf Life Saving Illawarra is a not-for-profit organisation which relies on community generosity including donations, fundraising and corporate sponsorship.
Surf Life Saving is an inclusive and uniquely Australian movement which offers people young and old, the opportunity to make a difference, make friends and maybe save a life.
Surf Life Saving Illawarra, (SLSI), is a group of volunteers elected by the 17 Surf Clubs in the Wollongong Local Government Area to represent the interests of these clubs in the region and provide leadership in the key areas of:
