STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES

The Surf Life Saving New South Wales (SLSNSW) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) document provides the Surf Life Saving NSW membership with a reference document identifying standards and regulations for general Surf Life Saving operations.

SLSNSW SOP

The SLSNSW SOP document provides clarity and guidelines on processes and regulations set at minimum standards to promote safe and effective working environments while promoting effective rescue capabilities of Surf Life Saving members.

In May 2019, the NSW Director of Lifesaving endorsed a review of the SLSNSW SOPs in order to make the SOPs a live document. Allowing for a continual review process surrounding the SLSNSW SOPs. There are several benefits to this process:

An agile, responsive approach to operations, while ensuring changes are appropriately communicated and trained;

More valuable feedback due a continual member facing feedback form, open year round rather than for 2 months every two years; and

High quality revision of feedback, legislation changes, and current best practice by industry professionals.
